Jonathan David Neal is a composer and orchestrator with 25+ years for experience in composing music for film, TV and record projects. Along with composing and recording with orchestras in Hollywood, Nashville, Abbey Road Studios London and the Budapest symphony, he has experience composing for and working with ethnic instruments and musicians in Indonesia, Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. He has recently composed music for the feature film Film Maker’s Son and the documentary Patterns of Evidence – The Exodus as well as other feature films and documentaries in both the US and Europe. His credits include Sponge Bob Squarepants, Christmas Child (Lifetime feature), NFL Films, E.R., etc. He currently has a music rights deal at BMG.
He formerly was an officer on the boards of the Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL) and is currently the Treasurer for MCNA. Jonathan is also, an Adjunct Professor of Music Composition at Biola University.
The SCL is the non-profit and primary organization for professional film, television, video game, and musical theater composers and lyricists, and those working in our industry such as orchestrators, arrangers, music supervisors, music agents, music attorneys, music editors, copyists, recording engineers, and allied professions, with a distinguished 70-year history in the fine art of creating music for visual media. Current SCL members include the foremost professionals in their fields whose experience, expertise and advocacy is focused on the many artistic, technological, legislative, legal, newsworthy and other issues as they relate to media music creators.
